Our Philosophy

Established in 1855, Reutlingen University has a rich history in textile education and has evolved into a state-run university of applied sciences in Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, specializing in spinning, weaving, and warp knitting.

In 2017, professors and students launched RU Enterprises, a student initiative offering practical experience in the fashion industry. As a non-profit organization, it enables students to take on leadership roles in various fashion sectors, emphasizing values such as creativity, sustainable quality, mindfulness, diversity, and community. Creativity and quality drive the mission of RU Enterprises to create sustainable, high-quality fashion that embodies simplicity, exclusivity, and affordability.

Through lectures and discussions, RU Enterprises integrates sustainability principles into the curriculum, empowering students. The organization’s commitment goes beyond product creation, promoting an inclusive environment that embraces the diverse talents and perspectives within the university community.
